Blogging this wedding at a time like this is making me treasure this more than I ever would have. This time has made us realize how much we love our job more than we have ever realized. I wish I could go back to Kelsey + Travis’s wedding three weeks ago… Wish I could go back and surround myself with all the wonderful people I got to meet and encounter on their day and gotten to know them more. I wish I could go back and do what we love… which is capturing our couple’s best day of their lives. Had I known these happenings were going to take place, I would have embraced it more. This was only three weeks ago, yet it doesn’t feel like a short time because of all that’s happened since then. I’m so happy for Kelsey + Travis that their day happened for them so beautifully. We recently had to reschedule many weddings due to the coronavirus and it has been very devastating for many couples and us too as well as countless many in the wedding industry. It makes me value this wedding that much more. I don’t want to miss what God has for me, us and our world during this time… When all this is over and we can all go back to our normal lives, I want to come out of this as a new person and never take things for granted again. Photographs have always held a priceless value and that’s something that will never change, but now it’s even more valuable to me in ways I can’t describe. I clearly remember when every single photo was taken. I remember the details, the atmosphere, the WIND, the weather, the smiles, everything… I remember our beautiful bride, Kelsey, getting ready when we first walked in, the cutest flowers girls who were so happy to be part of this big day and just loving their hair, makeup and dresses and freely dancing around… I remember all the fun that the bridesmaids were having as they were creating memories together. I remember the first look that Kelsey had with her father and her brother and all the special emotions and tears there. And I definitely remember Tracy, Kelsey’s mom, greeting us with her welcoming smile. She’s the reason that we even got to meet her daughter and now her son-in-law. We got to know her through our church - although she began working there after we left, we had numerous mutual friends on staff, and she has always been so encouraging to us on facebook and instagram. When she contacted us to connect all of us, we were so stoked and grateful. (Tracy, thank you so much!)
Before their wedding, it rained quite a bit and we kept checking on the weather to see what kind of weather was ahead of us… when there was no rain in sight, we were so happy! It was crazy windy, but we made it work to our advantage and made the best out of it. Anything was better than rain! Because it was so windy, it was chilly, but no one complained and the photos turned our beautifully… the bridesmaids and groomsmen were all so great, so it made the portrait time very fun. We just loved every minute of this wedding and oh my gosh ya’ll… it was our first time at “In the Woods” venue, and what a gem it was! We’ve never even heard of this venue before and we wondered how! It’s a huge property hidden in Rockmart, Georgia, and you guys… I just couldn’t get over the scenery there. Everywhere was so picturesque. My fav part was the ceremony space and more than anything, we were impressed by the quality of this venue especially the staff! They were AMAZING to work with and truly cared for the couple, the guests and all the vendors. So, if you’re looking for a rustic styled venue, we totally recommend this place!
Kelsey + Travis, we are truly so happy for you guys. We had the best time at your wedding and THANK YOU for being so photogenic and FUN to work with. You guys looked UH-MAZING! We hope that you’re loving being married and calling each other husband and wife.. :) Your photos are here and we hope that you LOVE them! Congratulations once again and may your days be filled with endless blessings, joy and love. Stay safe and well during this time and we hope to see you again in the future for your family portraits! No pressure ;).
