Three days of two families coming together to celebrate one happy couple is the summary of Darsani + Charles’s wedding ceremony! Words can’t describe how much fun we had during these three days! The vibrant colors of every traditional outfit and the exquisite details of the decor blew our minds!
There are weddings and then there are weddings that are unforgettable. Alexis + Hunter’s was just that! UNFORGETTABLE! Yes, their venue was beautiful…. so was their decor, flowers, and of course our bride was breathtakingly beautiful.
On this Wedding Wednesday, we are so happy to present to you Mia + Jesseʼs wedding blog. Yes, every wedding is special of course, but this wedding was very special to our family personally and professionally because of who this bride has been in our lives.
I grew up with parents who were complete homebodies. They never really had any strong desire to travel and if they did, it was at most a 2-3 hour drive. That was enough for them and because that’s all I knew growing up, that was good enough for me too.
Weddings aren’t just our “business”… it’s our life! We don’t just see weddings on the weekends, we see it and breathe it every single day. Many people have asked us if we ever get sick of it? Tired of it? Or even just get bored of it… When you shoot 40 weddings a year (for the last 11 years), you would think that we would, right? But, it’s crazy how we absolutely don’t… we honestly and genuinely don’t.
If you know me, I’m a HUGE royal fan…. well, when Kate Middleton married Prince Williams, that is… We were one of those crazy folks that got up 3am in the morning to watch their wedding LIVE on British television. I was so into their story and since then have been hooked on following the British monarchy and just learning more about it, especially the deep history.
Beauty is a relative… everyone sees it and values it differently depending on how they were raised, their beliefs, their own sense of taste and style, their morals and even their culture. Every wedding we go to, it’s focused on beauty.
Every time we see one of our couple’s wedding photos, it’s crazy how we can remember it like it was yesterday for us. The photos trigger a special part of our hearts and minds, and we especially remember the unique moments that happened at that wedding. Even if it was a wedding YEARS ago, we still remember!
Even after all these years, getting compliments on our work means the world to us. But, when an encouraging word from another fellow photographer comes, that means even more. When someone who knows how to technically and creatively appreciate photography likes your work, it’s truly humbling.
Some people have a special gift in welcoming and making that person feel like family… They invite you, encourage you, feed you, ask about you… They just know how to simply love someone. It comes so naturally, so genuinely and authentically. Emily and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house and as soon as we entered their home , that’s exactly how they made us feel. Completely and totally welcomed.
Everyone dreams of a perfect wedding… I know I did. I often pictured myself in the most beautiful wedding dress. Don't laugh, but my favorite movie has always been and always will be “Steel Magnolias”. It’s an old 80s movie with Julia Roberts and in that movie, she has the most “pink” wedding.
“You have such a fun job.”
“I wonder what it’s like to only take pictures as your job.”
“I mean, all you guys do is take pictures. How hard can that be?”
“So all you do is take pictures? You can make a living out of that?”
Those are real comments that we have received... MULTIPLE times and it cracks us up because I don’t know what my friends do exactly either.
From the beginning, we knew that Cristabel + Curtis’s wedding was going to be special. Craig has met this couple before, but for me, even though I’ve never met them, I felt that we already had a connection. We shot Curtis’s sister’s wedding as well, so there’s that!
Gosh… seriously ya’ll… We have the most gorgeous brides. It’s as if we have a modeling audition before we book our couples or something. Some people even ask if our clients are models! No, but when you scroll through these images, I know you will think that Olivia + Erik are.
When I get to witness two different cultures come together in a marriage, it warms my heart in a special way because I too am in a multi-cultural marriage.
In all the 10 years that we've been in business, we've always had at least one wedding per month. We shoot 40 weddings a year (give or take 2 or 3), and they have always been pretty spread apart within the year.
Rain... we've been getting a lot more of it than we would have liked this summer. It's as if Georgia has become Florida... hot and humid during the day and then afternoon thunderstorms in the afternoon... Well, because Fraderica + TJ didn't have first look on their wedding day, they decided to do a post wedding session. We were stoked when they told us that it was going to be at the Swan House!
We met online. :) Yes, that is the way we met Fraderica and TJ. They found us thx to Google more than a year ago! I'm so happy to finally be blogging their wedding day for you all to see. Everything about this wedding was grande... From Fraderica's fabulous dress, to TJ's change of jacket, to the venue, the wedding party and all the decor.

We first met Julia + Tyler last year at their friend’s wedding in Chicago, and even in the quick moments we had with them there, we could already tell they were special. So when they told us they were flying all the way from New Jersey to Atlanta for their engagement session, our hearts just melted.
Joanne and Kyle’s day felt like something straight out of a modern love story… effortless, romantic, and full of character. We met them at the iconic Hotel Clermont in Atlanta just before they headed off to elope at Piedmont Park, and from the moment we started shooting, it was clear this was going to be special.
Some senior sessions mean a little more, and Ava’s was one of those for us.
Ava isn’t just one of our seniors; she’s a longtime friend of our daughter and someone we’ve known since she was little.
I never thought I’d ever blog our own daughter’s senior portraits. In my mind, this day was so far away… forever away, but here we are. These eighteen years have flown by, as they say it would. We’ve been in business for almost two decades now and have taken senior portraits for that time, but photographing your own daughter for this special season was quite emotional. I didn’t know how to take it all in…
We’ve been photographing in Atlanta for 17 years, but somehow this was our very first shoot at the Capitol! We were so excited when Isabelle + Noah suggested it. As creatives, shooting at a brand new location is something we always look forward to, and getting to do that with such a beautiful couple made it even better.
Some weddings hit us right in the heart… and Rayna + Mark’s will be one we never forget. This day was special on so many levels, but what made it truly unforgettable was the history behind it. Rayna isn’t just any bride… She is the daughter of a photographer we have admired for years. Someone who once photographed our own family portraits long, long ago. It’s almost surreal to think about how life comes full circle.
We recently had the sweetest family portrait session with the Edwards family… This one felt especially special because their oldest and ours were in the same class back when they were just little kids, and standing behind the camera now, watching them all grown up, was such a full-circle moment.
There are way too many emotions with this blog post, y’all… First, this young gentleman is our friend’s son, someone we’ve known since he was itty bitty. Wow! I really didn’t know life would fly by so fast. He’s now not a senior in high school, but a senior in college!
Ah… family… When we see portraits of a beautiful family like this, why does make us feel so warm inside? Why does it make us stare at the monitor and just smile? What is it about seeing loving parents adore their children, and why does seeing kids grow up make us reflect on life?
It’s not everyday that you wake up super early, get ready to get to your photo shoot by 7:30am, and look THIS good! Yup… that’s what Prerana + Garrett did, and made today happen!
This is our 6th year shooting for the Dunsons, and every time, it’s an honor and a pleasure! They actually have a daughter as well, but she’s in another state pursuing her call there, so she’s unfortunately not photographed here, but they’re a stunning family of 5 that we adore!
There are photo sessions that go beyond portraits… They become moments of reflection, gratitude, and pride. Gaby’s senior session was exactly that.
Relationships… It’s everything. When you find friends who get you. Keep them. When you find friends that understand you. Keep them. When you find friends that you can joke around with and have fun in life… Keep them. When you grow to deeply care about them, keep them.
I’ve been eyeing Ancient Lore Village for a couple of years since I saw it on Instagram, and the perfect opportunity came this week! When I first saw it on a reel, I almost thought that it had to be fake! I didn’t think that a place like this existed in the United States
I was having a serious conversation with our kids the other day about “fulfillment”. I believe that our hearts are designed to be fulfilled… This is exactly why just doing a job or just getting a degree or just doing our duties of any kind in our lives become meaningless very quickly.
Senior shoots are so special because it’s a moment in time where I clearly remember how I felt. I remember having that “senioritis”, and just wanting to graduate already and move on to the next chapter of my life… COLLEGE!
Why are family portraits so emotional? I seriously get teary looking at photos of families especially when I know them! We had the privilege of shooting David and Kristen’s wedding how many years and to see their family grow beautifully is just amazing…. God is SO GOOD!
I don’t know what it is about our clients, but our couples always seem to be so at peace. In our chaotic world, peace is truly such a gift to have, isn’t it? That’s what I felt the moment I got to meet Misaki + James. They felt so calm…. there was no stress.
~Linda and Hudson under a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage! That’s their love story in a nutshell! lol! But, there’s so much between the lines there…
46…. A number that I never thought I’d associate my age with. Wow! Does time fly? Heck yeah! Now that I’m really in the peak of being a middle aged woman, I’m realizing how it’s not as bad as society makes it seem, and you know what? I’m really embracing it!
Want to hiking and/or camping, but don’t know where to start? Trust me, that’s the way we felt when we began too. There are so many products out there and if you don’t have much experience, it’s hard to know what you REALLY need.
Do dream weddings exist? Oh, you better believe it! As soon as we stepped into the cabin at Lake Lanier to begin Marissa + Evan’s wedding day, we just knew it was going to be good. We knocked on the door, and the bridal party greeted us so welcomingly, and the vibe was just the way you wanted it to be! HAPPY!
