Every few years or so, there’s a “popular” date in the wedding industry, and this year, it was 10/10/20. That’s right! That date broke the record of how many inquiries we received for one date. I’m not even exaggerating… I think we received over 30. Our hearts literally broke every time we had to say “no” to each couple that asked and asked again over and over. Our wallets felt the pain too… LOL! But, that’s the way this industry works and that’s why we always say to book early. There are only 52 Saturdays in a year and we book about 40 weddings a year, so the chance of you getting your date is not always likely. We feel like couples don’t believe us and that we are just saying that to make money, but it’s really true! Please believe wedding vendors when we say, “book early to get your date”. Well, Nina + Jason did the smart thing and booked a year and a half early to get the date they wanted! But, it didn’t come without a battle… the weather battle, that is. The forecast was calling for a lot of rain… like 100%! Nina + Jason had already made many adjustments for them to make this date happen. They were supposed to have a much larger guest number and overall a bigger party in a venue, but they didn’t want to pass on this moment and still celebrate in an intimate way with their most precious family and friends. But, when the weather looked like it wasn’t going to cooperate, we felt so bad! All of the portraits were of course going to be outdoors, so we had to get a backup plan. We called a few places to help out, but because it was such a popular date, all venues were taken. We called this date, “the Super Bowl of Weddings”. LOL! We finally got friendly service at one of the GA Tech venues (yay for GT!) saying that they will welcome us to take portraits inside. After all of that, guess what? It didn’t rain! A bigger yay! Woot woot! It held off and yes it did “spit” for literally a few minutes when we were taking portraits, but other than, everything went well! We were so happy that we could just get all of the portraits done where we had originally planned outdoors and do what our couple wanted. It held off the entire day! All the bright and happy colors of their tea ceremony were so beautiful at their home. You could really tell that their parents were so proud and happy for their children as well as all of their family members. How blessed is Nina to wear TWO wedding dresses in one day?! Yes, she then changed into the western, white dress and she was just as gorgeous. We had the best time capturing this special day for our couple and now posting their photos to share for the world to see! Nina + Jason, we congratulate you from the bottom of our hearts… thank you for having us. You had such a beautiful and fun wedding, and only wish you the very best marriage and future together!
With much love,
Craig + Unchong
