2020… I don’t think there’s anyone who can deny that it’s been a difficult year and we are only half way there. We have all faced obstacles and challenges as a nation and in fact, as the world. Sometimes I wonder if I even need to express that “I’m stressed out.” because who isn’t? But, I feel that maybe just maybe… 2020 is a year that we all needed. Through the hardships, we are seeing the good. Through the darkness, we are seeing the light. Through the devastation, we are feeling hope. This wedding blog post is special in many ways to us. For one, it’s the FIRST wedding blog since the outbreak of the coronavirus. This wedding was one wedding that we did NOT reschedule. Above all that, this blog post is about our couple, Sheena + Miguel, who we have endured and overcome and gosh… we are so happy to celebrate the presentation of how beautiful their wedding was. We met them on Instagram last fall and their wedding was planned in a different way. I’m not even going to go into the details of how was it “supposed” to be because you know what? It doesn’t matter now. But, changing those details was not easy for our bride and groom. At times, I’m sure it was quite devastating, disappointing and just heart breaking. Our hearts were broken for them too. We all know what those feelings feel like, but you know what? They didn’t stop there and that’s what I admire about this couple. We can feel devastated, but it’s our choice to stay there or not. And, they chose not to… instead, they chose to get back up, to rise up and to victoriously overcome their challenges and STILL make it amazing. One thing I have learned during this season is what’s really important and where my priorities really are. There are many things that I love about Craig, and he always makes THE best out of what he’s got. Instead of complaining, he builds something good out of it. And that’s exactly what Sheena + Miguel did. No matter what circumstances they faced, they chose to build a wonderful life for themselves. Look at these photos… just look at them! What are they missing? Absolutely nothing… in fact, these photos are filled with contagious joy and love and celebration. It’s truly the most beautiful wedding portraits I’ve seen. To me, these photos are more that just captured moments of an event, it’s a visual representation of conquering and winning. I respect them for being ok with making changes because at the end of the day, a wedding day is about getting married to the love of their life and that’s exactly what they did and they did it beautifully. Sheena + Miguel, from the bottom of our hearts, congratulations. You guys make such a great team and there’s not a thing that you guys can’t overcome together. May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26) It’s been an honor for us to serve you…. thank you for choosing us. We love you!
With much love,
Craig + Unchong
