Going to be honest with you… sometimes, before a portrait session, we don’t know what to expect. Sometimes if booking was done all online and we didn’t have an in person meeting or a video chat, we don’t even know what our clients look like until we get there. There have been times when we booked a client through a planner, their parents, or even siblings that we just have no idea. We have no idea if the couple is going to be photogenic, easy or hard to pose, what mood they’re in, or sometimes if they even don’t want to be there because hey, not everyone loves taking photos and we respect that. So, half of our job has nothing to do with photography… it has everything to do in getting to know a couple in a matter of seconds or minutes and make them feel comfortable with you. Ijeoma was there first, and my first thought of her was, “OMG! She’s so tall! And, stunning! Is she a model??” We got to know her a bit…. I quickly learned that she’s a doctor. Say whaaaat! Wow, smart and beautiful. And then, she told me that Chris is too. OH MY! Are you serious? Two doctors in the HOUSE! When Chris came, I then thought again… “Is he a model too??” I bet when they were in high school, they received the “best all around” award because I mean…. c’mon! I told them that to people like me, that’s just not fair. lol! Seriously though…. I love that. I admire people who are driven, focused, determined, committed, consistent, hard working, goal oriented… you name it, if it’s a great quality, they got it! Their spirit of excellence impressed me… and really, don’t you think that they should totally model at least ‘on the side’? They were super easy pose and so so so natural in the front of the camera. They’ve got the confidence and it showed. Confidence is key in taking a great photo, and we just had such a good time photographing this beautiful couple in their condo and around the city. Ijeoma + Chris, thank you for being amazing! We need more couples like you to be examples. We truly had a great time getting to know you and spending this special time. We appreciate you very much and we look forward to celebrating your wedding day next summer. Until then…. take care!
With much love,
Craig + Unchong
