Your heart is a reflection of your mind. And your actions are a reflection of your heart. We do as we are compelled, so it’s so important to make sure that our minds are healthy and whole. From the genuine smiles and sincere kindness of our couple, Lauren + T.J., there was never a doubt in my mind that they have positive minds. The entire day was so joyous, peaceful and positive! Their friends and family were all so pleasant to be around…. sometimes doing portraits with a large wedding party can be chaotic, but not with this party. They were so cooperative and helpful. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen were always looking for ways to help the couple and even us. I loved how they chose vibrant, happy colors that fit their summer wedding theme perfectly! Bright colors are so in style right now, and I’m especially loving it because I have always loved bold colors. In fact, our wedding colors were fuchsia (hot pink) and white! Yup! My favorite movie was Steel Magnolias back then, so I wanted to have a pink wedding just like Julia Roberts. hehe Anyways! Seeing those trends going on right now made me want to shoot a wedding with these colors, so Craig and I were so happy when they went all out with it!
The most touching part of their wedding to me were the toasts. I’ll be honest…. some toasts can be really loooooooong, but at our couple’s wedding, they were SO GOOD! So funny, so emotional and just real! The folks that did the toasts were great speakers and you could tell that they really prepared and meant every word. When T.J. said a few words afterwards, you knew that they felt truly loved and that every dream for this wedding that they had came true. I mean… that is what weddings are about! Gathering together with those that care and love you and celebrate the soul mate that you have found! It’s THE happiest day of your life, and when our couples are experiencing just that, we feel so happy for them. And when they’re happy, we feel like our goal as a wedding vendor has been accomplished! They had such a good time on the dance floor too…. when they share about this day to their future kids one day, it’s going to be quite a story. Lauren + T.J., you guys were awesome! I’ve only met you at your engagement shoot and your wedding day, but we feel like we know you so well and that’s only because that’s how sweet you guys have been in welcoming us and just inviting us in like family. It’s been an honor to be your photographers and getting to create these images that you will cherish forever with you! You guys are so photogenic and beautiful inside and out!
