Gosh…. where do I even begin with this blog post?! I just have so much to say that it’s hard to organize all of my thoughts. OK here I go… So, over all the years that we’ve been in business, we have been privileged enough to meet some amazing folks along the way. I’m sure as in any industry, when you meet someone in the same industry, you get to know each other pretty quickly because you understand each other and you have a lot in common. We have known Amy, our bride for this wedding, for awhile. We shot her sister’s wedding, 12 years ago (say what?!), and through that, we learned that Amy was the coordinator at Buford Community Center. While she has been here, she has shown us so much support and love for our business and our family, and we have never taken that for granted. Every time we shot a wedding there, we knew it was going to be great because Amy was the coordinator! I truly believe that a team reflects the leader and when you have a manager as good as Amy, it WILL run well. She runs a tight ship there and it shows. Fast forward, HER time to put the dress on came, and when she contacted us to share the great news, we were FLOORED! We felt as if our sister was getting married, and we were just SO HAPPY! Sometimes people just say, “Oh, when I get married, I’m going to hire you.” But, when the time comes, sometimes it doesn’t happen… But not with Amy. When she says something, she means it, commits to it, and simply does it! She should seriously model for Nike because her character fits their slogan perfectly. I have such deep respect for Amy’s character. She’s very genuine, kind, honest… there’s no reading between the lines or beating around the bush. She gets the job done, so let me tell you… When she contacted us, it was one of the easiest bookings ever. BOOM! Contract signed, payment made, engagement shoot planned, timeline done, waited for the wedding date and here we are now blogging it!
All of those things were expected, and we knew she had style, but what we didn’t know was her sense of design! Wow, is there anything she can’t do?? Every detail told me that she had a clear vision of what she wanted. Without vision, you can’t pull off something like what she did. At this venue, everyone either has the ceremony in the ballroom or outdoors, but no one has ever been creative enough to even think that you could do it in this one spot at the bottom of the grand stairs. When she told us, we thought, “Well, why didn’t we think of that?” The stairs at this venue is what makes it, so her use of it was just brilliant!
Through their engagement shoot, we got to know Collin, and especially for Craig, he connected so well with him. Craig could talk to a cop all day! He once was interested in being a cop, and we just love cop shows too. Our kids have seen enough of those shows that I think it has put enough fear in them to not break the law. LOL But in all seriousness, we highly respect who he is and what he does for our community. Collin, we thank you for your service! We had such a great time at the engagement shoot and even dinner afterwards that we had no doubt that their wedding would be so fun! They did an incredible job not in all the things mentioned above, but also in the planning. Amy’s goal was to be able to relax, not rush or stress and she got just that! We had plenty of time for everything, and I could only keep thinking how every wedding would go this smoothly if she was the planner! Amy + Collin, I think you get the idea that we loved your wedding. :) It was so special… it was beautiful… YOU guys looked phenomenal… I mean, you couldn’t take a bad photo even if you tried. You guys were like wedding Barbie and Ken! Total models! I think the photos prove that you are a picture perfect couple, but what we love most about you are your hearts and how beautiful it is. I know God was so happy to see you become husband and wife, and He will bless you beyond your wildest dreams through your marriage. May you always look to Him in all that you do! Thank you from the bottom of hearts for choosing us to be your photographers. It was an honor to be there… thank you for your kindness towards us. We hope that you’ll cherish these photos forever!
