We have been taking many road trips lately! As a photographer, we have a bucket list of places that we want to photograph, and the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, was one of them! We can scratch it off now because we got to with Loan + Vu! We’ve been here a few times before and one of them was for our eldest’s 10 year birthday, so we knew that it was going to be pretty spectacular to shoot all around this property. The weather was fantastic, and you know that’s always a plus for a photo shoot. Loan + Vu are having an elopement next year, so they wanted to go all out with their engagement session. They wanted anything epic, so when this idea came along, they were all for it! Did you know that the Biltmore is the biggest private home in America? I know, right? If you have not been there, I highly suggest it for a weekend getaway. It makes you feel like you’re in another country and if relaxation is the goal for you, this place is the place to go! There are other activities, but you certainly don’t have to do them and touring the house in itself is pretty neat. When we came with our daughter two years ago, we did a horse back ride to the back of the house and it was one of the most grand view ever. That one thing is a MUST do there! But, do keep in in mind that it ain’t cheap! ;)
We met Loan + Vu at the location, and it was our first time meeting them! Craig booked them over the phone, so it was great to see them in person. They both have such an outgoing personalities that we felt comfortable with one another immediately and got along very well. We went to all the major parts of the property including the gardens which I’ve actually never seen before. I’ve been there at least three time before and I couldn’t believe that it was my first time seeing that part! There are just so many plants in there that I felt like I was getting an oxygen boost. :) It was quite a workout because the property is just so big so walking from scene to scene was lot, but our couple took it like champs. I always have my apple watch on and even without turning on a workout, I closed all of my rings that day. Woot woot! Biltmore did have many limitations in the equipment that we could use, so we were bummed about that, but you know Craig! He can still make things look epic and the photos turned out beautiful…. We even made another trip more up north to the mountains to get a few up there as well.
Loan + Vu, this road trip with you was so fun… we truly enjoyed every minute of it and can’t wait for your elopement next year! I can’t wait for all the laughter again… Loan, you’re so full of energy and joy and it’s so contagious! Congratulations on your engagement! Until next time, take care and stay happy!
With much love,
Craig + Unchong
