Even though home is sweet and we all know that, we’ve been spending a lot of time at home, so it was so good to get away for a little while from our local area to Lake Oconee to see Lindsay + Ben! If I had to describe this shoot in one word, it would be “peaceful”. We’ve never been to Lake Oconee before…. we’ve just passed by it many times. We live by a lake as well, but who knew lakes could be so different? Their lake was so quiet, calm and as mentioned, peaceful. Wow! I felt like I had to whisper to not disturb the quietness. Everything felt so balanced there… there was no sense of stress, tension or any sort of disruption. The sky, the water, the land all seemed to be at peace with one another. It was such a surreal, supernatural feeling! Our couple was like that too…. peaceful and sweet. After meeting them, I could see why they wanted this location - it fit their personality perfectly! When Lindsay texted us their outfits, I just knew she had not just a sense of style, but an AMAZING sense of style. We didn’t have to suggest anything. They looked like picture perfect models and just so easy to pose and photograph. Every second Craig and I got to be alone like when they were changing outfits, I told him that I want to live there. And then I told him, “I want to retire here.” And then when they took us out on their boat for some shots, I told Craig, “Ok, let’s go buy a boat.” LOL!! But really, I was not kidding because that was the first time in my life where I had an itch to buy a boat. hehe Many of our shoots are in the city or locations where it’s physically strenuous, so I couldn’t believe how relaxing this shoot was. Everything was “right there”, so we didn’t have to walk much either which meant I didn’t have to carry much. We of course love all of their photos, but my gosh… the ones on the boat are just incredible and I think you’ll agree with me! I bet you we could send those in to boat companies as ads for them. People even asked if they were pro ads when we posted their sneak peeks online. Lindsay + Ben, I don’t have to tell you that you’re beautiful people because the photos speak for themselves, but your sweet and gentle spirit make you guys that much more beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful evening… we are so excited to see you again in the fall to celebrate your wedding day. Until then, take care and we hope you love your engagement portraits as much as we do!
With much love,
Craig + Unchong
