In the past decade, a person has never taken so many photos. Taking photos is something that we all do almost daily! It’s so readily and easily accessible and memories are being captured like never before. It’s funny how we all take pictures everyday, but there are still “professional” photographers. Thank God because if those weren’t needed anymore, we would be out of a job! it’s interesting how you can do something, but not do it “professionally”. Because to do it “professionally” means that you have to know the skill backwards and forwards. Instead of just tapping the shutter, you have to really understand the technical side of it as well as the creative side. Those two things have to come together to create a beautiful photo. You have to always be aware of where the light is coming from. If light isn’t what you need it to be or where you need it to be, you have to know how to create it. I mean, that’s what flash is…. It’s “fake” light that you have to know how to place when the natural light isn’t doing what you need it to do. Hence, you have to almost become like a scientist of light. And, there’s so much more… composition, shutter speed, aperture, iso, etc… And then there’s posing. And then there are outfits that need to go with the location. And then there’s knowing how to make your subject feel comfortable. And then there’s the whole business side of things that you have to learn how to do… like accounting, marketing, client service, etc…. I mean, the list goes on and on and on. So yes, when you become a “professional” in photography or anything for that matter, it’s so much more than just knowing the skill in itself. It has to become a business. Well, Shavieair + Chad are both pros and they know all of the things I just mentioned. For them to know all of those things and to ask us to take their photos meant SO MUCH! We’ve had professional photographers inquire us for photos, and each time, it means a lot. We had such a great time at the Avalon taking photos of this stylish couple! We went all over my fav hang out place… it was so fun getting to know them. They were the most chill couple, and everything worked out so smoothly and well. The security did come once, but he didn’t make us leave, so that was fine. hehe Other than that, like Craig always say, it was smooth like butter. ;) Shavieair + Chad, thank you for giving us the honor to capture this special season of your lives! We are so looking forward to seeing you both again on your wedding day in August! See you in a few months!
With much love,
Craig + Unchong
