Through our small group at church, we’ve been doing a personality study, and I’m once again fascinated! This is my third time studying it in depth, and just when I thought I knew it all, my mind is blown! I appreciate personalities so much because it makes me understand and love others in ways I couldn’t have had I not known these discoveries.
Customer service… yes, that’s a big part of business. In fact, in my opinion, that is the heartbeat of any business. Because in the end, what matters is people. People may think that they’re purchasing some”thing” or a product, but it’s really the experience. What they “feel” is what they’re investing in. If it doesn’t make them feel good, it will not be a good purchase.
Now that we’ve become “middle aged” and have kids that are entering their teenage years (wow that’s so weird to write), we can’t help but see weddings in a new light. At the beginning of our business which is now more than a decade ago, we went to weddings and thought how we wished we could’ve done that, had this, worn a different dress, etc…
Integrity, honor, morality…. you don’t hear about words like these too often these days. And, it’s even harder to find those who possess these and act upon them. But, not Jessica + Joel… they’re of a higher standard. Getting to know couples like them gives us so much hope for our world, for the next generation.
Just like many things in our world, trends change especially in the world of weddings. Craig and I got married over 13 years ago, and back then, most of us had our weddings during the day. Our ceremony time was 11am! It’s just unheard of these days… Now, the majority of weddings are in the evenings and the reception go til late night.
Through our business, we have had the privilege to connect with many people. Now, through our photography education business, CO Backstage Pass, we are getting to know more photographers more than ever before. We launched this business in March of this year… it has been a dream of ours for several years now.
Family is everything… that’s a saying that I couldn’t relate to for a long time. I come from a broken family, and my mom is all the family I’ve had. There were times when she wasn’t there either and I was handed from place to place. But, God does miracles and even though my family didn’t look ideal or perfect, my mom’s remarriage saved us.
Some people have a special gift in welcoming and making that person feel like family… They invite you, encourage you, feed you, ask about you… They just know how to simply love someone. It comes so naturally, so genuinely and authentically. Emily and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house and as soon as we entered their home , that’s exactly how they made us feel. Completely and totally welcomed.
